The first day of the “Operation Kalinisan, Kaayusan, at Kapayapaan (Operation KKK) was peaceful as most residents voluntarily helped and cooperated in the said drive.
This is as reported by City Administrator Victoriano A. Sabiniano, Jr. to Mayor Del De Guzman. The first Operation KKK was held in Barangay Nangka on Tuesday, February 21.
During the said drive, the city government fixed hanging electrical wires, trees, checked the proper disposal of garbage, proper use of sidewalks, peace and order, traffic rules, sidewalk vendors, stray animals, and many more.
The city government also checked stores, weighing scales, and ambulant vendors in Barangay Nangka.
“Despite receiving some resistance and reactions from the residents, we are still able to carry out the operation well. Following the city’s ordinances still prevailed to retain discipline among our residents,” De Guzman said.
“We also politely reminded the residents regarding the city ordinances they have to follow,” he added.
The Operation KKK will also visit the remaining 15 barangays of Marikina. Three days shall be allotted for the drive in each barangay.
The said operation consists of volunteers, police, and people from different local governmentoffices as well as officials from the visited barangay. They also distributed leaflets to remind the residents about the ordinances they have to follow.
Moreover, this will be a regular activity of the 16 barangays of Marikina to retain the discipline among its residents and make sure that every Marikeño follows the law.
