Marikina Mayor Del De Guzman reminds all the city’s taxpayers to be prompt in paying their dues such as real property tax or amilyar.
The statement was made after the City Treasurer’s Office has prepared and made available the Statement of Account (SOA) which is issued to taxpayers in order to inform them of the amount that they will be paying starting January 2014.
“With the early availability of the SOA, we are hoping that our residents will be able to pay their taxes promptly next year. The tax that we pay significantly helps build the city as it is the main source of funds which the government uses for its programs, projects, and services,” De Guzman said.
SOA is now available at Window 64 and Window 65 of the City Treasurer’s Office.
According to City Treasurer’s Office In-Charge of Office Thelma Quilingking, SOA states the certain amount of tax to be paid by a taxpayer as well as important contact information which enables faster and more efficient coordination between them and the city government.
Meanwhile, City Ordinance 88, Series of 2010 states that taxes paid in full from the period January 14 to March 31, 2014 shall be reduced by 50%, while taxes paid quarterly shall be reduced by 10%.
